I really appreciate the New World Bible Translation Committee's efforts to create the 2013 revision of New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. The text is not only easy to read but visually appealing (the font and illustrations). I especially like the new features like the outline of contents for each Bible chapter, glossary of terms, maps, illustrations (of the tabernacle, Temple, measures, and weights discussed throughout the Bible). (You have no idea how many times I've had to look up an ephah or omer or mina, or tried to visualize what the Temple looked like.)
These and so many other features of the recent revision truly add to my (and others') understanding and appreciation of the Bible's messages. They also make referencing material throughout the Bible quick and easy, though I will still access the Watchtower Online Library frequently. I frequent both the library website and jw.org to get new material and reference most things for which I need clarification. (In fact, I'm actually reading the ebook version of the Bible and using the JW Library app, but hope to get a leather bound copy soon.) ( )

An attempt at giving a nice modern reading corrupted by a whole slew of mistranslations and changes to support the inane doctrines of the Jehovah's Witnesses: no Hell, just a grave, Jesus crucified on a stake, changing God or kyrios to the unsupportable bastardization "Jehovah" whenever they seem like. Bleh! ( )

An easy to understand, literal translation of the holy scriptures in modern english. I highly recommend it. ( )

This is my favorite translation of the Bible. I've read other translations and prefer this one by far. Very easy to understand and the subjects in the back help when looking up issues you are pondering (i.e. love, hatred, science, etc.) I do not practice with Jehovah's Witnesses but I do prefer their biblical interpretations of Christianity, and appreciate their love of using the Bible in their convictions rather than other Christian religions who preach with just general knowledge. I keep it handy for when Jehovah's Witnesses come to the door. ( )
