Mother Bear is always there. When it is cold, Mother Bear knows just the right coat to keep Little Bear warm. When he flies to the moon and back, she has lunch waiting for him. And of course she has the perfect surprise for his birthday!

The first story is about the baby bear being cold and his mom dressing him warm.

Mother cooks secretly a cake for her baby bear while he makes birthday soup for friends.

We loved the Nickelodeon TV show so much. It was hard to appreciate the books when our love for the TV show was so great. ( )

First book I remember reading. So I gave it 5 stars. I remember sitting in my bedroom, wanting Daddy to read to me. I convinced him to get off the couch and come sit on the bed with me and read. So he did but I made the mistake of reading to him instead of waiting for him to read it to me and he said "Well if you can read this, why did you need me in here?". I should have played dumb for just a little bit longer. . . .I wish I still had my old copies of these books. ( )

Book description
Little Bear is remarkably like a typical 4-6 year old. The stories in the book can be read on their own, or as chapters of a larger book with the final chapter tying them together. I don't like that Mother Bear tells Little Bear that he can't have his big wishes, but he can have the last wish because "it's just a little wish". The stories have enough repetition that it feels longer while still being fairly simple to read, making it a good one to practice reading fluency.
