I've had this book for awhile and have read it before. It's a fairly good summary of the Bible. Reading the Bible of course is important and is far more accurate, but this version presents everything in a chronological, story format. Miller puts everything together, so you see the Psalms of David in their context, for example, instead of all compiled in the Book of Psalms. Easy to read. I've decided to re-read it now. ( )

Book description
Many people want to have read the world's best-seller, the Bible;  It is a drama of love and murder, heroes and villains, saints and tyrants, miracles and tragedies, angels and demons.  No other volume, religious or secular, so vividly describes the origin of Planet Earth, makes sense out of its present, and foretells its dramatic future and the destiny of its inhabitants.

This is a synopsis of the entire Bible that can be read in a few days.
