Peter's Aunt May is kidnapped by somebody who knows who Spider-Man is. The Owl cons him into tracking down Electro and the Vulture as the culprits, and Spider-Man is hospitalized after a horrendous fight with the two of them. The Black Cat rescues him as the Vulture attempts to kill him in the hospital, and brings him to his home to recover. In the meantime, however, a hospital orderly has sneaked pictures of the unmasked Spider-Man in his hospital bed, and brought them to Jonah Jameson. The humor is not as evident here as in J. Michael Straczynski's writing, but this is a pretty serious, and potentially life-changing (for Peter) issue. ( )
