Another book of interesting facts that gets a little tiresome to read due to the FAQ format. Pretty pictures though. ( )

Do whales really have belly buttons is an informational book that talks about the life of whales and dolphins. To start off this book has a catchy title that would make a child want to know about and makes them curious. The author could have just named this book whales and dolphins but instead they made it a question in which a student would have to read the book to find out more about it. I loved this book because it gave a question and then an answer but, the questions that were asked were not all serious questions. For example, "Do whales have bad breath?" is a question that would make a child laugh and wonder about. In the answer of the question they make a statement that some people say that their blow hole smells fishy but to check it out if you go whale watching yourself. I like that instead of just giving a straight answer they added some humor to the book which would keep a child interested. ( )
