Learn what goes on inside your dog's mind and develop a positive, fulfilling relationship with your best friend. "Dog Whisperer" Cesar Millan is America's most sought-after dog-behavior expert, but he is not a trainer in the traditional sense--his expertise lies in his ability to comprehend dog psychology. Tracing his own journey from a clay-walled farm in Mexico to the celebrity palaces of Los Angeles, Cesar recounts how he learned what makes dogs tick. Here, he shares this wisdom. Cesar's formula for a contented and balanced dog seems impossibly simple: exercise, discipline, and affection, in that order. Whether you're having issues with your dog or just want to make a good bond even stronger, this book will give you a deeper appreciation of how your dog sees the world, and it will help make your relationship with your beloved pet a richer and more rewarding one.--From publisher description.… (more)

Dogs aren't people. Most people know that, but don't really know how to treat dogs or other pets in a way that's not human, but being true to the animal. This book fixes that in a common-sense way. ( )

I realize Cesar gets a lot of hate these days....many feel his approach is outdated and no longer valid. As a lifelong dog owner, I disagree. I have owned many breeds of dog, large and small, currently we have 5 large dogs. Cesars techniques work. They are centered around natural canine instincts. Do yourself a favor....ignore the negative bs and follow Cesars advice, your dog will love you for it. ( )

Mostly OK book on dog psychology. I saw him in a TV show and liked how he handled dog problems. A lot of it is common sense, but still very informative. ( )

This is not your typical dog training book. "Cesar's Way" is different from any approach I have ever heard. Cesar view dog issues as mainly, human issues from lack of poor training and treating dogs as a member of the family or a child instead of the dog they are. ( )

I read this to learn methods to deal with my new dog. Like any sort of "change the way you do things" guide, it made me feel a bit overwhelmed. But once I get over the new mom insecurities I think it'll be alright. And everything in here seems totally reasonable, really, so how can you argue? ( )
