Well, everyone seems to have forgotten Kenneth Johnson's V from 13 years earlier when this movie premiered in the summer of 1996. Just as with V, Independence Day deals with an invasion of UFOs. ( )

Flying saucers invade earth.

It's a chore to sit through the whole thing, but if you just watch an hour at time it can be fun. Complete crap, but fun.

One of my favorite movies! I was stationed at MCAS EL Toro from 1974-1978 as the H&HS Weather Service Office...and it's very interesting to have them show part of the movie as being filmed on that Flight Line...
