Years ago as a teen I read The Rainbow Trail, this is the unabridged/uncut version, even more amazing than the The Rainbow Trail ( ) Not nearly as good as Riders of the Purple Sage, but in the end it was worth it to get the continuation of the story of Jane and Lassiter. The main problem was the "hero" Shefford. He doesn't play well in this day and age ... more than once, I was growling at him to grow a pair. He was just a big ole coward by today's standards. But yet again, the descriptive passages were simply breathtaking. Between the harrowing climb, up and down treacherous cliffs and the ride down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, the descriptions were riveting. Who knew that I would start getting into westerners at this point in my life? Gotta love those public domain books! no reviews | add a review

HTML: This sequel to Zane Grey's enormously popular Riders of the Purple Sage picks up ten years after the events of the previous novel. Tragedy has befallen the community of Surprise Valley, and changing views among the largely Mormon populace have begun to create rifts in the community. The Rainbow Trail includes plenty of the adventure and romance that fans of Zane Grey's work have come to love. .No library descriptions found. |
