![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. ![]() ![]() Yes, four stars. I was surprised, too. This is a terrific, and terrifically funny, book. The premise really grew on me. The humor managed to keep up a brisk pace in a story that really is a story -- with, like, issues and character development and stuff. Plus, I embarrassed myself while waiting outside my son's Lego class by laughing out loud several times during the penultimate chapter. Which is right near the end, and won't make any sense unless you've read the chapters leading up to it. So get cracking. - Cody is not adapting well to his family’s move from California to New Sodom, Massachusetts. Fed up with his lack of effort at the local high school, Cody’s dad transfers him to Vlad Dracul, where, much to Cody’s surprise, he is given a ‘free ride’ (all As with practically no effort) simply for playing on the school’s water polo team. As Cody discovers more and more about his strange classmates, he discovers that he may not be content with that free ride… Interesting concept, amusing at times, a bit childish…I like the change in Cody’s attitude. When his family moves from California to New Sodom, Massachusetts and Cody enters Vlad Dracul Magnet School, many things seem strange, from the dark-haired, pale-skinned, supernaturally strong students to Charon, the wolf who guides him around campus on the first day.
