YOTSUBA&!, Volume 1 by Kiyohiko Azuma (keristars)
keristars: Both of these are about a 5-year-old girl who has been taken in by an unmarried young man. They each use humor and the illustrative medium to great effect, though Usagi Drop has a more serious tone than Yotsuba&! - this difference is primarily because one series is more concerned with the adoptive father's story (Usagi Drop), while the other is more concerned with the little girl (Yostuba&!).… (more)

Why didn't anyone warn me how full of feelings reading the first volume of Usagi Drop would leave me? Oh right, pretty much every review ever. I just wanna cuddle Rin and serve her food but also let her do her own thing because she's awesome like that. Also, what the hell at this Rin's mum mystery? WHAT IS GOING ON. Good job, Yumi Unita, now I want to read all the volumes. ( )

I'm unsure how I feel about this - it was interesting and cute but weird at the same time - Rin I adorable though I think everything kind of stressed her out - I mean, she's smart for that age for sure - crazy smart - I feel perhaps she is written a bit older than her age ( )

I could not get enough of this book series! I loved the characters and the story is adorable. I laughed out loud so many times and learned a lot about Japanese culture. However, the last book in the series left me feeling let down, disappointed and confused. ( )
