Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Abigail is more than ready for a change when she inherits a cottage from her beloved mentor, knitting guru Eliza Carpenter. Leaving the oppressive city for the greener pastures of a small California beach town, she intends to turn her cozy little windfall into a knitting shop and spend her days spinning, designing, and purling. But she's not going to be welcomed with open arms by her new neighbor. Eliza's disgruntled nephew, the gorgeous Cade, now owns everything surrounding Abigail's ramshackle new home, and he views this sexy city girl as an unwanted interloper.

But chemistry working overtime is drawing two very different people closer than they ever thought possible, and when the past that Abigail thought she'd left behind comes calling, she'll have to somehow learn to trust her handsome adversary with much more than just her heart.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is filled with drama and some romance. I loved the characters. I also loved that it was about knitting because I knit. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Happy Reading Everyone! ( )

Liked the main characters and the premise. The conclusion was abrupt. Also, the dog, who was a steady plot element throughout, just stopped getting mentioned... wierd. EZ turned EC was okay, but became more cloying as the book continued, too close a parallel. I don't read much romance, but the knitting aspect interested me. ( )

I learned about this book on ravelry. A knitting romance... Of course I'll read it! I'm not sure non-knitters would have enjoyed it as much as knitters, though - the author was definitely writing for her fellow fiber enthusiasts.

It was a quick read, and I really liked it except I had to knock off one star at the horrible cop-out of an ending. It was as much a deus ex machina as I've ever seen. ( )

Yes, it's a formulaic contemporary romance, but that's okay. It's enjoyable fluff, right on for the genre. ( )

I wasn’t a huge fan of the characters. I didn’t like Cade (the male leading character). I thought he was a jerk. I did like the female character but I thought that she needed to stand up for herself more. I thought the ending was too neat. There was really no talking or explaining or apologizing done and I think it needed it, especially the apologizing. Also, I couldn’t close my eyes and picture the people in the book or the town where it is supposed to take place which I like to be able to do. However, I really liked the writing style and I liked how I could feel my chest getting tight in some of the emotional scenes (which is how I judge whether a book is good). This was also a quick read for me and I was able to finish it in four (4) hours. ( )
