The story of Mildred, a widow whose children are grown and living on their own. The only people who need her are her neighbors, Monica and her six-year old son J.J. Caring for J.J. while his mother works, Mildred develops a bond with the child, filling the emptiness in both their lives. Once J.J.'s family gets back on track, she realizes that she needs to get on with her own life.
