This is an interesting book and I purchased one when I worked for
Amoco Oil Company, in Chicago, back in the 1970s. I am now a prof at UCLA and somehow I lost this copy. I often loan books and regret it!

So about two years ago I found one from a used book seller in the
UK at an affordable price. I saw some well over $200 in my search.
So now I have my copy again.

The author is correct in that it was the only book available for wastewater problems associated with petroleum refining. It was badly needed because in the 1970s, the Chem E's working in the
design departments had no experience and knowledge on wastewater treatment. The book goes through a number of processes and defines
some potential sources of wastewaters in refineries.

It is still a useful book and if you work with petroleum refinery wastewater, it is worth owning.

Another must own but hard to find book for Chemical Engineer's. There are some great correlations that are found no where else.

At the time of publication (1967) this was the only book available about aqueous wastes from petroleum refineries and petrochemical plants and provided excellent data never before published. The book is now out of press and new copies are no longer available. Most good university libraries have copies. (I am the author, Milton R. Beychok)

This is the new fourth edition of the book on dispersion modeling of continuous, buoyant air pollution plumes which takes nothing for granted. Every equation is completely derived step-by-step without any complicated or advanced mathematics. Every constraint and assumption is fully explained.

The subjects covered in the book include atmospheric turbulence and stability classes, buoyant plume rise, Gaussian dispersion calculations and modeling, time-averaged concentrations, wind velocity profiles, fumigations, trapped plumes, flare stack plumes and much more ... with a great many example calculations.

The book has been purchased in 84 countries and is currently available in over 233 libraries worldwide. It has been referenced or cited as an educational resource 870 times in the technical literature and on the Internet, including the regulatory publications of 34 state or national governmental agencies worldwide. It has also been used as recommended reading or a textbook in 61 university courses.

The book is in its fourth edition and is now available only as a downloadable PDF document of 201 pages. More information is available at www.air-dispersion.com.
