The Moonlit Garden by Corina Bomann
The storyline involved a violin being given to a woman who then goes on a search to discover the reason it was given to her. I had mixed feelings about this book. I liked that the story was based on an interesting premise, and involved music, history, and travel. I didn't care for the somewhat juvenile "romances." I felt it didn't quite work as a mystery because it was too easy to guess what was going to happen and some information needed to solve the mystery was provided during the characters' dreams.… (more)

[1]: L'‰eredità di Agneta by Corina Bomann
un bel romanzo ambientato nella Svezia dei primi del 900, una saga familiare stile downton abbey che l'autrice di origine tedesca ha la bontà di traslare in un paese neutrale, appena un pò più a nord.
Questa sua scelta però penalizza ciò che mi attrae nella Bomann, cioè le descrizioni dei paesaggi tedeschi, un paese dove ho vissuto per un anno e che amo, specie il nord.

Il segreto di Mathilda (Le signore di Löwenhof #2) by Corina Bomann
Le ambientazioni di Corina Bomann sono sempre interessanti. Ritengo sia un suo grande merito aver scelto la Svezia per questo romanzo, ambientato in un periodo storico delicato per la Germania e per l'Europa in generale. Interessante il dibattito sulla verità e sul perdono come pure il cambiamento della posizione della donna durante quegli anni. Un vero peccato la scarsa considerazione che abbiamo ora, dando tutto per scontato, mentre le nostre progenitrici hanno dovuto lottare a lungo per ogni piccola libertà.… (more)
