Lovely story about queer romance which for the first time in reading many LGBT themed books didn't feel forced or stilted but flowed very naturally. The story of Patch a girl who doesn't fit in at her school who has a crush on the super popular Evie. Patch has only one friend Edwin who is transitioning, but an "accident" in Art causes Patch and Evie to be thrown together and suddenly Patch finds herself sitting with the cool kids at lunchtime and being invited to parties etc. with her being in danger of ignoring Edwin when they need her most. There are bullies and family dramas between Patch and her divorced mother and father that see her searching for advice from other adults in her life, especially about coming out. Nice book.… (more)
