I enjoyed this book because it gives various facts about the American Revolution through the alphabet. The American Revolution was an 8 year fight that was the beginning of the United States of America. Some facts topics covered in this book include the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the Declaration of Independence, Independence Hall, and the Battle of the Kogs. It also discusses important people during this time including George Washington, John Hancock, and Henry Knox. This would be a great book to incorporate into a history/social studies lesson plan because it is very informational and entertaining to read.… (more)

SUMMARY: An alphabet book providing details about the first Thanksgiving.

REVIEW: I enjoyed this book and I think that children will enjoy it as well. The illustrations are beautiful and give children many different colors and textures to look at while reading the book. Additionally, the alphabet book format is easy to follow and saves children from potential "information overload." The letters of the alphabet can represent simple things such as "B is for boat" and "C is for clothing" to "D is for danger" and "F is for freedom."
