Alex Dragnich (1912–2009)

2389 Major European Governments Fourth Edition, by Alex N. Dragnich, Ph.D. Jorgen Rasmussen, Ph.D. (read 17 Jun 1991) I picked this up at a rummage sale for 10 cents. It was a great buy. It tells at length about the governments of Britain, France, West Germany, and the USSR in 1974. It is dated of course. and I'd like to read the 1991 edition, but historically it is important to know of the form of these governments 16 years ago. This is a college textbook, which made it easy to understand, and I feel it is a great enlightenment. Reading the section on Russia makes me think we should do nothing to prop up communism in Russia. The book, incidentally, gives no hope that communism would ever give up its grip on the countries that were then [1974] Communist. The horror Communism has done to Russia is beyond description.… (more)
