After the events of the first book, I could not wait to read this one and continue the journey with Osric and Karolina. Their relationship is evolving. Yet, Osric is still a good father figure to Karolina. Which speaking of her, she is blooming into a good, young woman. She is becoming stronger.

I look forward to seeing more of Karolina's growth as I continue this series. There is a new addition to this story. Her name is Mira. She is a nice addition. She is a fighter. Although, with her presence does bring new challenges between Osric and Karolina.

I am invested in Osric and Karolina. Therefore, I found myself engaged in the story and them. Making these books very quick reads.

I was drawn to this novella. It actually read more like a full-length book. There is a cliffhanger ending. I am already invested in Kari and Osric that I look forward to reading Volume Two.

In the beginning I was not sure where this story was going but I was very intrigued. Yet as the story slowly unfolded, I because really invested in it. I already had become emotionally attached to Kari but then when Osric came along, he was just what this story needed.

Two wounded souls. One looking for redemption and the other learning to live.… (more)

When I originally signed up for this book, I just thought it was a retelling of Alice in Wonderland. It wasn't until later that I realized it was an adult, reverse harem retelling, and I thought "oh no what have I gotten myself into?" I don't read much romance, but when I do, it's more behind closed doors than erotic writing, so I wasn't sure if I'd end up liking it.

I was pleasantly surprised with the story. There were definitely a lot of spicy love scenes, which was okay. It's not generally my cup of tea, but it wasn't off-putting. One scene was a little longer than I would have liked, I felt like it went on longer than necessary. For the most part though, those scenes were spaced well and fit in with the story.

As for the story...when she was 13, Alice was brought to Wonderland and was tortured. She was sent back to the real world a changed girl, ending up in a home for unstable people. Now 18, she's returned to Wonderland to finish what was started years ago. Alice has plans for Hatter, Rabbit, Cheshire, and even the Jabberwocky, but I don't think any of them knew what those plans included...and Alice didn't plan on the Queen of Hearts pulling the strings.

All in all, an interesting, adult retelling of Alice in Wonderland. There's enough plot surrounding the spicy scenes to make it move along at a decent pace. If you enjoy spice, love retellings, or are an Alice in Wonderland fan, then you may enjoy this adult version of Alice.
