Summary: "Up To The Plate" is a story about the integration of women into the sport of soft/baseball. The revolutionary move in history of girls moving from factories to ballparks is the main idea of this book. There is information about the forming of the American Girls Professional Baseball league and the teams that took interest.

Review: This is purely an informational book that I personally found hard to follow. I felt as though many of the facts were presented in an unclear way. The shining feature of this book is the illustrations. They did a great job of presenting the transition of women as factory workers to softball players. I feel as though the dates could have been organized better, but I still enjoyed reading through it.… (more)
