DNF: bailing at the 31% point mostly because the writing style is too convoluted - I don't know if it is authentic or fake-historical, but it's been annoying me more than other historical romances, so I'm going to leave before I give it even fewer stars. The plot is...a little murky, besides the romance, and not all that well revealed. But I didn't finish it, so take that for what it's worth.

A sweet, short story about a girl who is shy and stutters and is a wee bit insecure, deciding her best bet is to become a governess. A secret deal between the hero and her grandfather-in-law sets us up for some good angst, but unfortunately it is just too short to do much with it. Cute though!

The book starts in New Orleans and takes a trip to the Caribbean before ending up in England.

Fun, in that intermediate category between wonderful and so-so.
