He grew up in Detroit and in a family with a Christian minister father, loves baseball and is passionate about golf. His family moved to Arizona, loved the Beetles and formed a band called the Earwings as sort of a take off of them. The band changed names several times and were a counter to the Peace and Love movement. Church members complained about his long hair.
His music evolved to gallow humor and shock entered the shows by accidemt. A live chicken wandered by on stage, and being a city boy, he said that he did not know that they can't fly. (I dispute that as a fact because my Aunt Garnet's chickens roosted in one giant tree at night. He threw the chicken off the stage and instead of flying, it was grabbed and torn apart by the crowd, they drank the chicken's blood. From then one, more shock became apart of the presentation, often having large snakes wrapped around him. The book delves into him meeting and liking many celebrities. A lot of well knowns, my eyes start to glaze over. But the stories were all amazing.… (more)
