Overall Opinion:
Overall, I thought Ann B. Harrison “The Convenient Cowboy” was your average cowboy romance. It wasn't anything spectacular so I was surprised by most of the ratings. Obviously I'm not saying it was awful, it was a cute story filled with relatable characters and nice premise. Nice read but definitely nothing to rave about.

The Convenient Cowboy by Ann B. Harrison
The Hansen Brothers #2

Nate Hansen needs a job
Joy Mitchell needs a ranch hand that won’t leave
She’s at the end of her rope
She’s a widow and mother of a toddler
She’s running out of steam
He might be able to help her on the ranch and keep it away from a conniving relative
BUT
Is a marriage of convenience really the only way to solve their problems?
Read the book and see.

I liked the dynamics between Nate, Joy and Toby. The romance was slow growing and by the time they truly sealed the deal they knew one another well enough to have a good chance at a future together. I have to say that I didn’t see them as a couple in the beginning or understand the reason for the marriage as I have in other marriage of convenience romances but it is also difficult to write a more modern day book of this genre with a truly convincing reason for the marriage...or so it seems. The villains were a bit over the top as was Joy’s sister. The plot was somewhat predicable and yet...I did enjoy the story and found myself hoping that Nate, Joy and Toby would get their HEA.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This review was written for LibraryThing Early Reviewers.
Mari returns to Cherry Lake years later after running away as a teen with her boyfriend's brother, Rake. She comes back after Rake's death to make amends with her high school boyfriend, Ethan, and his family. They took her in as a teen because her mom was into partying. After all this time away, Mari has to let the family in on her secret and Rake's secret.

So, if this was a Hallmark movie, I would be all over it. It was a quick read and very upbeat. However, it was very predictable and kept repeating details. It also was very choppy at places and didn't flow.

This book probably wasn't for me. I would only recommend it if looking for an upbeat, romantic quick read.

I haven't read any of the other books in the series and received an advanced copy from Library Thing for an honest review.
