A young adults book from the 1950s with the attitude to exotic places and nations that was customary back then. Still, I was fascinated by this book about the first long-distance flight by a Lufthansa Ju.52 from Germany to China (via Iran and Afghanistan). Icing of wings, a motor burnout, everything you don't really need at 4000m in the Himalaya. A good read, and a book that was made with considerable effort (see the cover, the drawings inside are good as well).
