New England's Plantation by Reverend Francis Higginson
Great fun to look back at this early view of life in North America. It was in part originally written as a propaganda piece to lure settlers to the New England colonies, so it is a bit rosier than actual life in those times. It does have early descriptions of hazards like rattlesnakes, though.
