If you want to learn about cultivating roses this is not the book for you. If your favorite subject is horticulture this may still not appeal to you. This book will instead attract those who want to expand their knowledge. The rose is sort of used as a springboard to other topics. How amazing is it to interweave the rose throughout the many peoples of the world touching upon the way we think and live. Astrology, literature, religion and more. You may think your pretty well read until you read this book! Even if you don't read every chapter, when you're done you'll start to see how many more area's the rose connects with that you never realized before. I think St. Thérèse of Lisieux should have been touched upon, but that's just me! The audio edition is even better.… (more)
