Dark, Deep and Dangerous though also Delightful – this novel would not let me go. There were twists and turns, deceptions and delights, wonderful characters and evil ones. The plot was strong and moved along seamlessly. It must have been difficult writing a story with the main character so at a loss for words most of the time.

Abby had a horrid childhood and it left her damaged but not daunted. She is productive, earns her way and takes care of the abuse whether human or animal. Not having read the previous book in the series I am guessing the Jeff, FBI profiler, met Abby in book one and was intrigued. He may have wanted to figure her out at first but she ended up being more than a puzzle to him.

There is evil to overcome, pain to be experienced, saving to be done, creativity to share and a relationship to build. I enjoyed watching this story build as Jeff and Abby got to know one another better. I liked the fact that Abby was not a mouse even if she was often quiet as one is supposed to be. They say communication is the key to good relationships but when communication is nearly impossible it takes more than speaking to make sure everything is understood.

I really liked this book and want to thank NetGalley and Carina Press for the Copy to read and review.
