Twenty-six episode series about naval combat during World War Two. Famous for its music score, eloquent narration and combat footage.
I was particularly interested in the episode--Battle of Leyte Gulf--as my father was in the Navy and in that Battle.
Fifty-three years later, this remains the finest war documentary of all time. Much credit goes to Richard Rogers' heart-churning score and Leonard Graves' grim voice.
