Jewel Lansing

I am a local policy wonk and so have read many books about local governments and related histories. I found myself unable to put this book down. The writing was excellent, the subject matter was compelling and the research was exemplary. I first read this as a library book, but I was so reluctant to return it that my father-in-law bought me a copy. I have been reccomending it to everyone with an interest in the history of Portland, OR.
