This book is a fun read and a fun idea! I enjoyed snow-filled Christmases for years at a very young age, then my family moved to Mesa/Phoenix, AZ. I longed for "White Christmases" again.
This book encourages the very young child to dream big" and to never let others discourage you.
The poetry was in poor rhyme and failed to "flow" smoothly or mattacin a regular rhythm. The topic, characters, and uniqueness were worth adding this Christmastime book to one's library. It is an uncommon tale to entertain the very young child with and it is written in few enough words to maintain the interest of a child in the age range it is written for.
Because of uniqueness, originality, and entertaining topic, which encourages young children to "dream big" and to pursue their dreams, I offer a Four Stars rating.

In The Lizard Who Loves a Blizzard, Larry is an adorable little lizard who wants nothing more than a snowy Christmas in Australia. His faith runs strong that he’ll enjoy snow one day, even though his friends think he’s a bit crazy.

I love how Larry is positive and doesn’t let other people’s doubts get him down. He’s upbeat and fun, and it’s easy to root for him. The illustrations are colorful and charming, and the Australian setting is fun.

The story is told in rhyme, which is where I struggle a bit. The rhyming lines seem to be the driving force of this story, resulting in some of them feeling forced and stretched. Even so, the story is entertaining, showcasing the importance of staying true to yourself, your hopes, and dreams.
