Brigid beware! by Kathleen Leverich

I loved this book as a kid! My sister and I reread it many times. I was a little nervous about picking it up again 20 years later, but it holds up! I still love the magic, the mysterious silver cat, and Brigid's long red skirt with bells. The message is a good one, too.

Brigid's parents are depicted as reasonable. Her siblings tease her a little, but they aren't super mean and they don't use bad language, so it's realistic but wholesome.

Apparently, this was the second book about Brigid, so now I have to track down the first one!… (more)

Brigid, bewitched by Kathleen Leverich

I loved the Brigid books as a kid. The sequel is my favorite, but I still enjoy this one, too. Leverich manages to put so much mystery and magic into such a short book!

Hungry Fox and the Foxy Duck by Kathleen Leverich

I've loved this book since I was a little girl. Love sharing it with my kids. You have to watch out for that smart duck. She might just teach that sly fox a lesson.
