Find the Jinn by Maz Maddox
Wilde Contracts series #1. Fantasy, paranormal M-M romance. Trilogy. Romantic erotica.
Dallas Wilde is used to taking contracts killing vampires, necromancers and whatever else needs killing. The only companion in his life is his fish named Kevin. When Dallas kills a necromancer, he finds himself in a precarious position. Now he’s a necromancer and he has a vampire in thrall. How could that happen?
Dallas still needs to pay his rent, and since Kevin won’t help, Dallas needs to track down and kill the Jinn that got him in this mess. While lusting after his client.
What a mess.

Ridiculous and steamy hot.
Loved Kevin and his expressions.
Looking forward to learning more about Dallas, Kevin and where this could possibly go.

I'm sorry. I feel like she who poops at the parties, but I am going to have to call this. It's just not for me.

I just can't with the manic pixie dinosaur dream boy coming across as Howard from The Big Bang Theory, but too gay to function. Everything that comes out of his mouth is an on the nose nerd reference and/ or just sounds like/ is sexual harassment.

I couldn't help feeling a real self insert fan fiction vibe, which, let me be clear--no shade on fan fiction, but you normally make efforts to seek it out and know what you're getting into, so it's unexpected when it comes to you in a book.

I hate not liking stuff. Especially stuff people who seem cool are raving about. Extra specially when it's Queer stuff (and dinosaur shit), but I did not enjoy any of what I read/ listened to.

I seem to be the only person feeling this way though, so I guess it's the joys of subjectivity and your mileage may vary.

Going to blame my having covid for this ebook selection I think. Was expecting a sweet story more 'Grandma and Todd' -esque, but this is really more like demon erotica.

Quick to read, very little plot, some inconsistencies.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I'm not a fan of shifters. The western theme made the characters and their world much more believable. Maz is a new author to me and I look forward for more and better edited books from her. I'd like to know more about Scarlet. Cal and Jesse were a fun couple to follow. I'd like to visit Stallion Ridge again. One star off for the poor editing.
