Ur-Surrealist Yves Tanguy belonged to the inner circle of the 1920s Parisian avant-garde, alongside such figures as Salvador Dal', Max Ernst, and Alberto Giacometti, making essential contributions to Surrealist manifestoes, magazines, and exhibitions.
