Okay, so I first have to say this book was very high on my TBR because many people recommended it. However, it wasn't my book.

I dived into it with high expectations. The beginning was promising - I liked the spice and the characters, but I just found it unrealistic. And the thing is I'm kind of into gaming and the gaming world doesn't look like that.

I wish there were 30-year-old sexy gamers, but most of them are teens, or if they are adults, they are usually not fit. Especially, Discord mods are famous for that that they live in their mothers' basement and never go out with girls.

Then, as the book proceeded, it just became worse. Jason "The ex" turned from a person who treated the heroine as trash to someone who wanted her back. His act at the end was just ridiculous.

And I understand that girls like bad boys who will hurt the person who hurt them (I do too), but Glitch just sounded cringe, especially, when it came from the mouth of a hacker. I would get it if he was threatening to expose him, as he did in the end, but violence is not always sexy.

Unfortunately, I didn't find the spice spicy as well, so that was another level of disappointment.

However, I know a lot of people enjoyed the book, so don't let this review from stopping you to read it.

Rip off

I understand the theory of Multiple Discovery when two people can simultaneously have the same idea... that is not this. The main themes of Kristy Cunning’s The Dark Side series we’re very plainly ripped off, cheapened with tons of meaningless and pointless sex, and shoddily reproduced to form this book.

Even if a book that was published well before this one wasn’t so obviously being ripped off, this book wasn’t that good. The points taken from Kristy were great but the actual plot.. terrible, it was like pulling teeth to get anywhere (that wasn’t yet another sex scene), just a complete waste of time… (more)
