Third Event: An Evening with Author Martha Moody Time: 7:00 p.m. Location: Main library lower level multipurpose room, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon
Moody will discuss her career as a writer who has sold nearly one million books, and the successes and challenges of her last three novels including her latest release, “Sharp and Dangerous Virtues.” A departure from her “upmarket fiction” in her novels “Best Friends,” and “Sometimes Mine,” this dystopian novel is set in 2047 Dayton, Ohio, and paints an unnervingly realistic picture of the future centering on a cast of authentic characters struggling with the realities of war.
Moody, currently a resident of Dayton, called Mount Vernon home in her early years. Her family still lives here. She called the library her “haven” during her childhood years, and she is looking forward to returning to help commemorate the library’s Quasquicentennial Celebration. (hipdeep)… (more)
