Ernst Nolte (1923–2016)
Author of Three Faces of Fascism: Action Francaise, Italian Fascism, National Socialism
About the Author
Ernst Nolte was born in Witten, Germany on January 11, 1923. After being excused from military service in 1941 because of a deformed hand, he studied philosophy, philology and Greek at the Universities of Münster, Berlin and Freiburg. His doctoral thesis was on Karl Marx. He taught at the show more University of Marburg from 1965 to 1973 and at the Free University until he retired in 1991. He wrote several books during his lifetime including Three Faces of Fascism, Germany and the Cold War, and Historical Thinking in the 20th Century. In 2000, he received the Konrad Adenauer Prize for literature. He died on August 18, 2016 at the age of 93. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
