Sylvia Ofili

A nice coming-of-age story about a young woman from Warri, Nigeria, with an Igbo father and a German mother who travels first to a boarding school in Lagos and then studies abroad in Hamburg, Germany. It dwells a little too long on upperclassman hazing at the all girls school in Lagos without really achieving a point but I liked the found family she forms in Germany. It's all a bit too episodic and doesn't quite come together overall, but I really enjoyed the fresh perspective.
