I found this a great book - if you are a mother. I was never a wife or mother but it contains good advice on raising kids in today's high tech/internet connected/drug filled world. She was raised in a loving family who seems to come together whenever there was a crisis. Personally, I don't have anyone I could call if something happened at noon, let alone 2 am. It is inspiring as to how much faith she and her family has.

Live, love, laugh. That's what this book is all about. And putting family first. An endearing book by an endearing celebrity icon.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good of a story teller Marie Osmond was. She has a lot of wisdom and love that she spreads throughout the pages. Her mother also was full of wisdom and was an incredible and fascinating person. Overall I enjoyed reading her book a lot.

Marie Osmond gives us a look at her life in a very personal way. Her experiences will make us laugh, cry, and possibly relate to them.

I have always had a crush on Marie, dating from the original show. I agree the book just hopscotched around from here to there, one story followed by some unconnected item. I was hoping for more from the break up of her marriages, but got little. An entertaining read if nothing else, but more of a self promotional to keep her name out there, and add to her considerable resume.

Although it contained much information, it seemed to be hard to follow. She went from one story to another-present to past, past to future; making it difficult to figure out what or whom she was talking about. She did not delve into many of the things that might prove to be more interesting in her life.

Not only is Behind the Smile the story of Marie Osmond's postpartum depression, it has sections of suggestions for those suffering from postpartum depression, risk factors and a list of places to get help. The story is told with humor and honesty. A great read for those who know someone who is suffering from this debilitating disease.
