TW in book: domestic abuse
I feel like the last chapter was missing, we got left mid-story. I wasn’t expecting much more but feel like a proper ending was missing.
I liked the idea for the book but found the execution was rushed and glossed over a lot of important points. Not my favourite of her books but will still be reading future releases.

I love a friends-to-lovers romance especially when a drunken night reveals their mutual feelings. These two are both frustrating and swoon-worthy. Taryn was a little frustrating in that we never really got an answer as to why she fled except she was scared. I did love seeing them interact in the present and with their families.

A very witty and steamy second chance romance about finding your first love again. These two were super fun and I loved reading a second chance romance about high school sweethearts where there were no hard feelings and they broke up due to him moving not anything going wrong. It set the ground for a much happier reunion than often occurs. The epilogue was super well done and I was so pleasantly surprised to see how they had evolved.

I loved this book. I kept losing myself in the story, then would look up and be surprised that I hadn't noticed anything going on around me! There was poetry in some of the descriptions, and that's not something I normally find in romance novels.

I read the sequel before the first one, and I wouldn't recommend doing that. I understood both Ruth and Derek better after I read their backstories and saw how the relationship caught fire and developed so quickly.

Poppy, Derek was amazing and hot and all that stuff; but can we keep Sam around somewhere for someone else? I really LIKED him! I understood why he was angry and hurt, so I just can't see him as a bad guy, although I sort of wanted to about the phone situation.

Sweet and hot romance!
