On the surface, this looks like a dry book about arctic ecology, but when you start reading it, the author's humor and good writing transform it into a book worth holding onto.

The book is split into two sections: the arctic and antarctic; and focuses on animal life and their interconectivity. The way in which the entire ecosystem of the antarctic relies on tiny krill is fascinating.
