Lisa Westberg Peters has written many more books that you can count on your fingers, and of course we love them all. But her two newest books hit the sweet spot for us Rumpians. Volcano Wakes Up! isn't just poetry. It isn't just amazing facts about molten lava. And it's not just a book of some of the most beautiful illustrations of volcanoes you've ever seen. IT'S ALL THREE! Holy guacamole. In honor of of this awesome book, we're going to make our own mini volcanoes at this event, so come with your scientific and crafty sides ready. Frankie Works the Night Shift is near and dear to the critters at Wild Rumpus, and if you don't know why, then you probably haven't read the book yet. We always say that the reason Pimiento the Chicken and Daniel Handler the Cat are allowed to go behind the counter, while children are cruelly forced to watch from afar, is that behind the counter is for employees, and the animals work here. Well, Frankie works at his store, too, and he's busy all night long. We think Frankie and our cats should meet. Would our cats have tail envy? (omayao)
