2021 movie #100. 1974. A man is beaten to death in his apartment and the lead suspects are a couple of demobilized soldiers. The motive? The victim was Jewish. Hate was the motive. The movie that type cast Robert Ryan as a villain.

What I remember is that this about Franklin Roosevelt's becoming paralyzed from polio and running for governor or New York. His wife, Eleanor, and his mother are important women in his life.

A teenager falls for a grown man, who is forced to date her.

It's hilarious enough to be one of the best comedies of its era, despite the cringe-inducing disaster of a premise and mess of a story.

This started out as a screenplay collaboration between the two authors for a proposed movie, then developed as a novel. This is a traditional American western, with thinly-disguised characters and events from World War II. It was written in 1943 and accurately predicted the manner of Hitler and Mussolini's deaths. A standard western, given added interest by the historical parallels.
