I finally got around to reading Rackham's Razor by Tony Schmitz (who plays Jack Rackham in Black Sails). It's prequel set ten years before the show depicting Jack and Anne meeting for the first time. It looks rather nice and Schmitz clearly knows Jack's voice, but I was a little underwhelmed. As a passion project by an actor who cared enough about his character to write a prequel comic during off time during filming of the show it's great.

The handling of Anne isn't great. She doesn't really have agency. She doesn't actually get to do anything beside give Jack a piece of information and leave with him once she has been rescued. There is a final moment that is cute, but, again, it's all Jack.
