About the Author
Arthur Simon is the founder and president emeritus of Bread for the World, the nation's foremost citizens' lobby on hunger. As a Lutheran pastor on New York's Lower East Side, he brought together Catholics and Protestants to organize a public outcry against hunger. His book Bread for the World won show more the National Religious Book Award and was described by the late Nobel economist Gunnar Myrdal as "a clear and convincing" analysis of world hunger. Among his many other honors, Simon has received the Presidential Hunger Award for Lifetime Achievement, the Center for Public Justice's Leadership Award, and the Pacem in Terris Peace and Freedom Award. show less
