Not where I had expected the storyline to go... In a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles which has been sucked into hell, the cast of Angel are still fighting the good fight... kind of. Really interesting continuation of the show, though I wish that Whedon et al had decided to go with traditional novels instead of graphic novels. It's great of see everything visually but it's such a character driven storyline that I think it might have been stronger with just words.

Thank you Scribd for getting my passion for Btvs and Ats back.

Los Angeles has been transported to hell and Spike, happy that he survived another fight, decides to retire from fighting evil. 2 minutes later he is back in business saving humans with Fred/Illyria by his side.

I enjoyed this volume quite much. It's been ages since I watched Ats and I think I actually need to rewatch the whole series. Should probably finish rewatching Btvs first. Anyway, great volume. Nice art, lots of action. Some Spike & Illyria smooching, me like very much.

The art is beautiful, of course. It's well written. I just...I don't like where the story went. I don't like that everything about everyone has suddenly changed. Opening the portal to Hell in L.A., yeah it was bound to cause some issues. But if Season 6 would have happened, I know this is not how it would have went down (special effects budget notwithstanding). I can't connect to them. This isn't them. It's like metaverse Angel.

Being a huge fan of Angel, this comic opens up in what appears to be the middle of a battle which leaves the reader confused as it is said to pick up where the series left off. The comic keeps this confusing tone through it’s pages by switching between several locations and some characters. The character aspect leaves the reader not knowing whom some are or what is going on. All in all, After the Fall presents the reader with confusion, nostalgia, and wanting more.
