Just like the other books in this series that I have read, I find the story overlong. However, I do really like this book for looking at Stammers and stuttering. Making it known it’s okay, and something that can be controlled. I come from a family of stutters and when they were young books like this didn’t exist. So they stayed quiet. In this time, with a former VP and hopefully soon to be president with a stutter, it’s nice to see more things that say, this is okay.

This book looks at how to help a child that may not be able to express what they are feelling. Perm Worm likes his days to go in a certain way. Food at a certain time, seeing certain people at specific times during the day, so when his class gets a substitute, he has to learn new ways to express how he is feeling. First off, this story is overly long. Second, what is with Cough Moth and always slamming into the light. It’s just odd. Overall i can see this working for some kids, but not all.
