This is my Poetry Library.
I have had a great love of poetry since childhood and this was fostered in my high school years by my great English teacher, a wonderful woman, who brought poetry alive! My favourite poetry, broadly, is nature poetry, metaphysical poetry, mystical poetry, spiritual poetry, feminist poetry, activist poetry, haiku, and tanka. Some of my favourite poets are Mary Oliver, Emily Dickinson, Adrienne Rich, Elsa Gidlow, Walt Whitman, William Blake, Robert Frost, Judith Wright, Rumi, Hafiz, Robert Bly, and others too numerous to mention!
I have a particular love of poetry by women.
I prefer poetry that does not rhyme!
- About Me
I have been an avid reader and book collector since childhood and have now amassed a collection of about 5,000 books, most of which are nonfiction, my favourite category. Within my nonfiction collection, the two largest collections, broadly speaking, are (1) spirituality and (2) poetry.
I do read fiction from time-to-time but I tend to borrow fiction books from libraries, rather than purchase and keep them.
