About meRetired corporate graphic designer; avid traveler; pianist; member of Millennium Magic, a 4-part harmony a cappella chorus; hand bell ringer; member of two book clubs and a writer's group; layout and design person, ad rep, and editorial board member of Haddam Bulletin, a 40+ page monthly newsletter.

About my libraryMy library is a diverse mix of fiction and non-fiction. I favor writers who can write beautiful prose and capture the full range of what it is to be human. I want to see, taste and feel the words. I sometimes read a mass market thriller or mystery when I just want a fast read to clear out my head.

I have books all over the house. I don't have enough bookshelves to accommodate them all. They're neatly piled on the floor or a table. I've probably given away more that I currently own. It was hard for me to make the decision to let them go. It required many conversations with myself. But, the books were literally taking over my space. I had to be practical.

I share books with my husband by reading out loud. We discovered early on that I had to be the reader because when he read, I'd immediately fall asleep. To date, I've read hundreds of books out loud. We are currently revisiting "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert Pirsig.
