About me Writer, speaker, maker of mischief. I edited "Bookmark Now: Writing in Unreaderly Times" which was published in June of 2005. The first book I remember reading was "Goodnight Moon." My favorite book is the one I'm reading right now.

About my library I've converted an old walk-in closet to a library, which is almost filled. Books have also taken over my office and are in danger of running the cat and I out of the place. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Talk about genius - that would be Dave! He is a great guy. Can you believe I have never been to Portland? Which means, sadly, I have never been to the esteemed Powell's.
In answer to your question -

Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops in Milwaukee WI. A group of 5 independents. The company has been around for 80 years. I have been here for 19 of them and am the marketing director.

Just wanted to let you know that I loved Bookmark Now! and talked about it quite a bit with both co-workers (I work at a bookstore) and customers!

Thank you for it.

Hey! Fancy meeting you here. I haven't gotten half my books in my library yet, but already you show up as one of my top matches. :-)
It fades man... It fades.
You like my lead quote?
You don't have to lie to me Smokler. We're not even dating.
What's up, bro?
Thanks, I've combined them. ryn
You don't know me. I just wanted to say I loved Bookmark Now.
If I owned a digital camera, I would immediately. Let me see what I can do.
I would love to see pics of your walk-in converted to a library!
So, within about 24 hours' time, I was catching up on the Powells.com blog and reading through the most recent Bookmarks mag, and I see that you are a guest blogger on the former AND mentioned (if slightly and softly snidely) in the editor's letter in the latter. I think, hmmm, Kevin Smokler - that sounds like a very familiar name... So, you're, like, a total literary hipster celeb. What with the book, the blog, the mention. :)
Damn it, Smokler... whenever I find something cool and Web 2.0ish, you always seem to have gotten there first. No fair.
Hey, cool. I have "Bookmark Now" among my many other books. I've only read a few of the essays so far, but liked what I've read.
Ahh, I am definitely biblio-stalking you, it seems. Well, great minds read alike, must be. :) Very cool to converse with a real, live, publishing editor. I read about _Bookmark_ on Bookslut and Amazon - I should definitely pick it up shortly, and then we'll have yet another book in common...
Hey, Smokler! You're very welcome for having your book. It was a sheer pleasure! Any plans for a sequel? (major hint)
