About meI'm a reference librarian at a state university. As part of my job, I buy books for our children's collection.

About my libraryMy library includes favorites from my whole life. As a child, these included books the All-of-a-Kind series and the Little Women series as well as The Borrowers and Mary Poppins. The first books that I read outside of a children's collection were Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre, and Hawaii. My favorite genre is historical fiction, so there's a lot of that in My Library. I'm in a book group, so I've read a lot of the books that many book groups read. But by far the greatest number of books on this list are children's books that I've read in the last ten years in my capacity as Children's bibliographer at my University.

Hi Wanda,

You should get it shortly - the copies are slowly trickling in (taking a *long* time, but it'll show up!)

Hi Wanda!

Yeah, we do have a few books in common. I see you have a lot of Steinbeck. I've been working with him for a year now, and for some odd reason it warms my heart to see other people reading him. So many of the scholars are getting down on themselves with this idea that Steinbeck isn't read or taught in an academic setting anymore.

Hope everything is going well at Alden.
Thanks for letting me know and for uploading the image.
Thanks for loading the picture of SONG OF THE PINES; I've just attached it to my record. I see we have a lot of the same books in our collections, including many Newbery titles. Do you have any picks for the 2008 Newbery? I'm thinking WEDNESDAY WARS for the win, with WAY DOWN DEEP, EMMA JEAN LAZARUS FELL OUT OF THE TREE, and GOOD MASTERS, SWEET LADIES as Honor Books. For the Printz, I'd love to see ONE WHOLE AND PERFECT DAY win, with Honors for ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY OF A PART-TIME INDIAN, SOMEDAY THIS PAIN WILL BE USEFUL TO YOU, and maybe a couple others I haven't "discovered" yet. ...Of course they always end up surprising us and picking something we're not expecting, don't they? Thanks again for the pic!
