About My Library
I am slowly - very slowly - going to be updating this. Mostly what will appear for now are the books I read for fun or when researching the Victorian (or older) eras for inspiration for my perfumes / perfume names. Also adore reading about the Georgian / Edwardian / 20's & 30's periods.

I do sometimes read novels set in the present time (honest!) but I really always hanker after a good historically-based story I can lose myself in.

Do feel free to recommend me some titles / authors if you think I'd like them; I am always on the look out for books to buy - don't think I have ever successfully passed a bookshop by without emerging clutching some new tome.
About Me
An avid perfume maker, I am also forced – completely against my will – to WORK for a living (disgusting, but one has to scrape together the pennies), currently managing a designer fashion concession. It’s hardly the salt mines, but I’d rather be focusing on my perfume making.

I also love updating my blog with articles on trinkets, fripperies & [mostly] nonsense.

Do stop by for a visit - I have some fabulous & fascinating links to explore: http://beyondthepaleblog.wordpress.com

It could be said that I am fairly obsessed with Victorian (and older) slang, probably due to the amount of Victorian novels I have devoured, and likely connected with my love of the bawdy, burlesque & steampunk types. Most of my perfumes are named after slang terms for, well, brazen hussies, disreputable cads, bounders, and ne’er-do-wells...

I am a member of the wonderful perfume-site Fragrantica (see link below 'Also On') and very flatteringly have been asked to write a number of articles by the editors, which I very much enjoy doing.

I'm engaged to a wonderful Scottish man with silver ringlets (he found his first grey hair two weeks before his 16th birthday, bless him. I adore his hair! And, well, him. Obviously). Wish his clan had held on to some of the castles, but them's the breaks if you back the wrong side in a civil war, I suppose!
